WEEK 12

7. GENDER STEREOTYPES

10. DIGITAL WORD

One of the videos with which I have laughed a lot was one of a YouTuber called WillyRex. It was about playing a game where you are supposed to simulate golf. But in one of the shots, a giant spider popped up in the middle of the screen, and he shouted so loud that I couldn't stop laughing. It may sound not that funny, but my current humor is quite weird, and I will probably laugh at almost every strange emitted by anyone.

11. LIVING ON EDGE: CONDITIONALS

4. Individual work. Let's put into practice how to write the different types of conditional sentences.

1st conditional. Write a short paragraph using the first part of the conditional, "If I get the wrong food at a restaurant, …."

If I get the wrong food at a restaurant, I will probably not pay

2nd conditional. Write a short paragraph giving your opinion on the topic. "What would you do if you inherited a zoo".

If I inherited a zoo, I would have a good income from it

3rd Conditional. Demonstrate your understanding of how to use this structure by writing a paragraph starting with the phrase "if I had known….".

If I had known where the pigs were, I wouldn't have searched that much

WEEK 6-12

13. REPORTED SPEECH

These weeks, we have been working on some different concepts that we haver never talked about before. Personally, I didn't find it that difficult, but there has still been interesting topics to remember. As far as I'm concerned, this week's exam it's going to be with selectivity structure, so I'm going to practice my writing and my reading a bit.

NORMAL INTERVIEW

Interviewer: How did you come here?

Greta: I came here in a 0 emission boat.

Interviewer: I wouldn't have done it as a kid, and I wouldn't do it now probably

Interviewer: And what is the main problem that the people have with the climate change?

Greta: One of the main issues is that pretty much anyone is informed as they must be.

REPORTED SPEECH INTERVIEW

The interviewer asked Greta how did she come here.

Greta said that she came to New York in a 0 emission boat.

The interviewer said that he wouldn't have done it as a kid, and that he wouldn't do it now.

Then, the interviewer asked what was the main problem that people had with the climate change.

And Greta answered that one of the main issues was that pretty much anyone was as informed as they must be.

USEFUL PHRASAL VERBS

Catch up with: Ponerse al dia - I have had to catch up with homework since I missed some lessons.

Come up: Aparecer - Marta just came up with the exams

Think through: Pensar detalladamente - I have thought through your idea and I didn't find it that brilliant.

ACTIVITIES THAT HELPED ME

This activity helped me to review before the exam, in order to keep in mind all the concepts we have been working on these weeks.

POST EXAM REVIEW

Today we have had the exam. As thought, it was a selectivity model, so it has been easier to answer through the questions for me. I feel good about my performance, as I felt that the reading was quite easy and also was it the listening, except 1 or 2 questions of the last. Writing has never been my stronger skill, but today it has not gone bad. I'm definitely proud of my final result on the exam, and I'm expecting excited the marks.

WEEK 1-6

We have been working on different writing structures, as well as on a wide selection of vocabulary. We have also practiced the speaking with topics related to jobs and enterprises world. As it is the last exam of the subject, it would probably be a bit more difficoult.

In this activity we were supposed to put in practice the structure of the informal letter, as we had been doing during previous lessons to the activity.

In this other activity, we were also aimed to write another letter, but in a more formal way. We also learnt to use formal expressions and more pollite structures.

We also worked on making a job interview as a speaking activity. This taught us the structure of the interview in a more dynamic way.
